Fiber Optic Lineman

We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Communications Lineman to join our team and install or repair fiber optic lines that run above or below ground. Lineman responsibilities include installing strand and fiber optic lines in the communications space on utility poles.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Install messenger strand
- Install and lash/overlash fiber optic lines and MST's
- Assist with complex and commercial fiber optic service drops
- Attend to call-outs and perform repairs in an efficient and timely manner
- Report progress, complications, concerns, and delays to the supervisor
- Clear away tree branches near fiber lines
- Work on aerial bucket and cable placer trucks
- Complete all projects with safety as the #1 priority, ensuring compliance with internal safety standards and all governmental orders.
Education and Qualifications:
- Proven work experience as a Lineman or similar role
- Extensive experience with climbing gear, aerial lifts, tensioners, guying
- In-depth knowledge of federal safety regulations and guidelines such as NESC
- Knowledge of cabling diagrams, as well as electrical and building codes
- Superb troubleshooting abilities
- Great organizational and time-management skills
- Relevant safety training and/or certifications
- Hold a driver's license with clean driving record, CDL helpful but not required

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and to talk and hear, and lift 75 pounds or more. The associate must occasionally reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
